South Shore Friends of Veterans (SSFoV) provides immediate assistance to Veterans and Veteran families.
Let us help you. Our relationships with Veteran experts and credible Veteran service organizations provide the necessary tools for the success of our American Heroes. SSFoV works with local chapters of the American Legion, The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and the Veterans Treatment Court of Porter County, Indiana.
If you are a Veteran currently struggling with facing life’s challenges, please contact our Veterans on staff.
Part of helping Veterans is serving their families and the dedication to “not forgetting.” SSFoV assists in memorial events in Northwest Indiana that allow communities to come together and remember our Fallen Heroes.
SSFoV continually supports the families and survivors of the Sapper 6—the six members of the Valparaiso-based Indiana National Guard’s 713th Combat Engineers killed in action while deployed to Afghanistan in 2012.
SSFoV raises funds to provide grants to not-for-profit organizations who serve our Veterans' needs. Along with assisting local Veteran organizations, SSFoV raises funds for Folds of Honor to provide educational scholarships for the families of fallen or disabled American military—the Heroes who stand guard over our freedom.
This is the Veteran Suicide Hotline: 1-800-273-8255. Every day, 22 Veterans take their own life. Save this number in your phone—it could save a life.
